BACK TO GENERAL INFORMATION: https://scouts.atlanta247.com/
Please note: There is NO REQUIRED uniform. Just encouraged. We will help you - Just ask. All kids deserve to be included.
We are "Belt up" unit.
A "belt up" uniform scout unit means the scouts are wearing their official uniform shirts and belts, but may be wearing other pants, such as jeans, rather than the official scouting pants.
This is a common practice, particularly for Webelos and Cub Scouts, where the focus is on the shirt and neckerchief as the primary indicators of their scout status
Uniforms may be requested for some events - such as when we represent the unit as scouters for the public.
The traditional Scout uniform represents honor, integrity, and adventure.
This classic design has been inspiring young scouts for generations, featuring the iconic badges and patches that tell the story of each scout's journey.
Each element of the uniform serves a purpose, from the practical pockets for outdoor adventures to the placement of patches that showcase individual achievements
and skills learned along the scouting path.
Founder Baden-Powell on the uniform
The Scout kit, through its uniformity, now constitutes a bond of brotherhood among young people across the world. It creats a sense of belonging.
The correct wearing of the Uniform and smartness of turnout of the individual Scout makes him a credit to our Movement.
It shows his pride in himself and in his Troop. One slovenly Scout, on the other hand, inaccurately dressed may let down the whole Movement in the eyes of the public.
Show me such a fellow and I can show you one who has not grasped the true Scouting spirit and who takes no pride in his membership of our great Brotherhood.
-- Robert Baden-Powell
Neckerchiefs?
Neckerchiefs are the only piece of gear that is universal amnong the World of Scouting Movement. Every nation has neckerchiefs as part of its uniform. More:

Buy Used
Search E-bay and Market place and buy a used uniform. Ask your neighbors and other scout families. There are plenty of used uniforms and you can save a lot if you don't mind changing the patches yourself!
Or ask your local cubmasaster - he's pretty good with a needle and thread... If you want new - they are available in the Scout Store next to the Braves Stadium!

Kindergarden "Lion" Cubcout Uniform
A simple scout T-shirt. It can be the lion shirt or a pack shirt. Their color is Yellow for neckerchief. Kindergarden children may wear the blue buttondown if they wish,
but many parents find their child is too small for the uniforms available. It's ok to buy big of course!
First Grade - Tiger Scouts
Blue uniform with Orange accents. As Girls often do not have beltloop pants, this scout wore matching leggings and the belt at a female's natural waistline instead.
Second Grade - Wolf Scout
The wolf color is Red. This young man has on the blue button-down and blue scout pants.
The scout belt in green is from the middle school program - but a scout is thrifty and uses what they already own!
Third Grade - Bear Scout
The bear color is light-blue. Stock picture from the scout site describes the various uniform components..
Fourth Grade - WEBELOS Scout (WE'll BE LOyal Scouts)
The Webelos color is Plaid. This Stock picture from the scout site describes the various uniform components. The young lady is wearing the Skort, which is no longer recomended. Shorts are fine for girls too!
Fifth Grade - Arrow Of Light
Fifth grade is a transition year. At some point in the year, buy an oversized tan shirt and green pants to replace the blue uniform.
Girls should be able to locate green pants with beltloops by this age. Magellan Pants from Academy sports are the popular and inexpensive option.
Blue Jeans should not be worn, as these age will be working with the middle school program and blue jeans present challenges for many events.
Class B Activity Shirt (all ages)
Most of the time we wear our activity shirts. This is a T-shirt that adults and scouts wear so we all match - allowing us to pick 93 out of the crowd!
Beltloops!
Each month your child will earn awards that go on the belt. Over time - you may earn so many that you need to get creative on how to display them!
