Cub Scouting - Scouting America

Cub Scout Logo from Scouting.org Cub Scouting is where adventure begins! For youth in kindergarten through fifth grade, Cub Scouting provides fun activities, character development, and outdoor adventures that help build confidence and create lasting memories. The six focus areas are:

πŸ€ͺ

FUN

Games during meetings - while learning!

Skills like: Archery 🎯 Knot-Tying or Campfires πŸ”₯

STEM πŸš€ Activities and Events

Clean, Safe, and responsible activities for the whole family!

πŸ¦… Scouting is first and formost about whole family fun! πŸ€ͺ

β›Ί

Learning About the Outoors!

Camping and Cookouts 🌭

🌲 Exploring the woods

Lakes and Rivers 🚣

🐾 plants and animals

Oppertunities to Spent time outdoors, without screens or other modern distractions. Just kids in nature enjoying life with their families!

🦺

Personal Safety!

Scouting is Safe!

πŸš¨πŸ“’πŸ””βš οΈ

We don't wrap the kids in bubblewrap or make them wear hardhats πŸ‘· but we make sure they know when and what safety gear is needed. Scouting will teach them about the buddy system πŸ‘¬ and first aid 🌑️🩹 - expanding their knowledge each year with age appropriate information.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Citizenship

Cub Scouts teaches citizenship through age-appropriate activities that instill values like respect, responsibility, and service to others, both within their families, communities, and the nation. Cub Scouts learn about the importance of respecting national symbols, participating in community service, and understanding the roles and responsibilities of citizens.

πŸƒ

Personal Fitness

It's tough being a kid - Growth spurts and akward movements!

Scouting helps with healthy choices for growing bodies! We don't expect your kid to eat only salad πŸ₯— & water πŸ’§ - we just encourage them to choose the 🍎 over the 🍩.

We have FUN with our excercising 🀸 so the kids (and us adults!) actually enjoy it!

Scout strong! πŸ’ͺ🏻

πŸ•ŠοΈ

A Scout is Reverent

✝️✑︎β˜ͺοΈŽπŸ•‰οΈ

We don't teach your family what to believe, but we do encourage your scout to be faithful to their religious duties and respect the beliefs of others. This is a chance to have that family chat emphasizing the importance of what your family believes in terms of spiritual development and how as a Scout we need to respect others in their faiths.

What does Scouting Cost?

Comparable to the cost of Soccer or Baseball - Scouting offers a YEAR ROUND experiance, closely matching the School calendar.

For the costs you get a safe meeting space for your children to make friends and learn skills. You get access to monthly events and activities.

Most Importantly - you join one of the most successful youth organizations in the World: The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) recognizes Scouting programs in at least 215 Nations!

βšœοΈπŸ’°

National Fee - $85

This fee covers national Scouting America costs, including insurance for Scouting Activities. It is an Annual Charge that you will renew online each year during the month you first join Scouts.

🎭

Local Pack Dues - $60

This money helps to pay for awardsπŸŽ–οΈπŸ† and on events in which your child will be participating. Local units do not get paid or see any of the National Fee.

πŸ›’

Camping and Food

Each Campout will have a cost. Camping is optional (but a big part of scouting so try to make them!) We keep costs as low as the grocery store will allow us....

πŸ›’

Special Events

🏎️🏁πŸš₯πŸ†πŸ’¨

Events like the Pinewood Derby or Blue and Gold banquet may have optional costs. Our goal is to keep those costs to absolute minimums!

πŸ’Έ

Financial Aid

Our Council offers assistance to help you join scouts! They can help with the $85 national fee (we can't avoid the costs of awards, outings, or food unfortuantly)

🍿

Powered by Popcorn!

Need to Fundraise? We offer both a fall and spring fundraiser. In the fall we sell popcorn 🍿 - in the spring we sell coupon cards! With a few weekends a year you can pay for all your scouting activities!
